Privacy Policy
Crypto Worm Wars · last updated 17 October 2026
The short version. We keep what the game needs to work: your account, your nickname, your friends, your scores and anything you choose to send us. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads based on it. The $CWORM coins in the game are play money, not real tokens. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Who we are
Crypto Worm Wars is a free game made by the Crypto Worm community project (cryptoworm.io). You can play it in Telegram through @CryptoWormWarsBot and on the web at play.cryptoworm.io. "We" in this policy means the Crypto Worm team that runs the game.
What we store and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your Telegram user id and name (when you play in Telegram or link Telegram) | To sign you in, show your name to other players, and let the bot send you the messages you asked for |
| The nickname you pick | Shown to other players, friends and in the ranking |
| Your Solana wallet address, only if you link a wallet | To sign you in with your wallet and, for beta testers, for the tester airdrop. For holder rewards we also read the wallet's public $CWORM balance about once a day and keep the balance and your holder tier; other players only see your title (like "Whale"), never the amount or the address. Linking only signs a text message: no transaction, nothing is spent, and we never see your keys. |
| Game progress: wins, losses, finished matches, $CWORM gained, your friends list, invite links you used | Online play, friends, the ranking, and invite rewards (play money) |
| Feedback you send from the game, with its star rating, your platform and language | To improve the game and, for beta testers, to know who helped |
| Your country (two letters, from your connection) | The flag next to your name. We don't store your IP address. |
| Where you came from (for example "a friend's link" or the name of a post we shared) | To see which posts and channels bring new players |
| Custom Worm (holders, only if you make one): the cartoon worm portraits drawn from your photo | The portrait you keep is shown to other players on your profile, in the ranking and in battles. The photo you upload is sent to our AI provider, xAI (Grok), to check it and draw the portraits, and is never stored by us. Portraits you don't pick are deleted within 3 days. Other players can report a portrait, and admins can remove it. |
| Community teams (only if you start or join one): the team's name, tag, emoji, Telegram group link and picture, who is in it and the points members earned for it | Shown to every player in the game and in the bot's team posts. A team picture is sent to our AI provider, xAI (Grok), to check it before it is shown; admins see each new picture and can remove it or the team. Leaving a team removes you from it; points you earned stay with the team. |
| Your reminder setting and when we last messaged you | So the bot messages you at most once a day, and never after you turn reminders off |
Your settings, coins, hats and campaign progress are also kept on your own device (and in Telegram's cloud storage for the game when you play in Telegram), so they're there next time you open the game.
Live matches can be watched by other players. A match shows both players' nicknames and flags.
Where it's kept
Game accounts and scores are stored with Cloudflare (Workers and D1). The game's website is hosted by Netlify. Custom Worm photos and team pictures are processed by xAI under its own privacy policy. Inside Telegram, Telegram handles your account and messages under its own privacy policy. These providers process data for us to run the game. We don't sell or rent your data to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising.
Messages from the bot
The bot only messages you if you started it or allowed it in the game. It sends things you'd expect: a friend's challenge, an invite reward, and at most one reminder a day (your Daily island, or a friend who's online). Turn reminders off with /stop in the bot or in the game's Settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you play. Feedback is kept for as long as the beta and the tester airdrop need it. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and everything linked to it within 30 days, except what we must keep by law.
Deleting your data
Send us a message with the word DELETE through the Feedback page in the game, or write to the admins in the Crypto Worm Telegram group. We'll confirm and delete your account, nickname, scores, friends, feedback, linked wallet address, holder status and custom worm portrait. A delete button inside the game is coming.
Children
The game is not made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.
Play money
The $CWORM coins, levels, ranking and rewards in the game are play money, not real tokens. They can't be bought, sold or withdrawn. Any real token airdrop for beta testers is announced separately and rewards feedback, not wins or coins.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and say so in the Telegram group.
